The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing thermoformed trays throughout production — from raw sheet material to finished product. This role ensures that all products meet dimensional, visual, and functional specifications while supporting continuous improvement and quality system compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on thermoformed trays at various stages of production.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Conduct routine quality tests, including tray thickness and weight.
  • Record and maintain inspection results, batch records, and Certificates of Analysis (COA).
  • Identify, tag, and isolate nonconforming products and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Monitor production output to ensure operators follow quality standards.
  • Work closely with machine operators and supervisors to correct quality deviations in real time.
  • Support calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area in accordance with ISO and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection within the plastic packaging or thermoforming industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize visual and dimensional defects.
  • Comfortable reading product specifications.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (Excel, Word, ERP/QC data entry systems).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
