Job Summary:
The Computer Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computer hardware, software, and network systems. The role provides technical support to employees, ensures optimal system performance, and assists in troubleshooting issues to maintain smooth operations within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment.
- Install and configure operating systems, applications, and computer peripherals.
- Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and security checks.
- Set up workstations, network connections, and user accounts.
- Monitor system performance, network connectivity, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Respond to IT support tickets and provide timely solutions.
- Assist in data backup, recovery, and migration processes.
- Maintain IT inventory including equipment, tools, and system licenses.
- Provide user training on basic computer functions, tools, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Computer Technician or similar technical support role.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and troubleshooting methods.
- Familiarity with network administration and common connectivity issues.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and data protection practices.
- Ability to install, configure, and diagnose software and hardware.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
