Senior Application Support Engineer

Job Summary:

As an Environments Analyst, you will coordinate and implement the setup of application infrastructure on new non-production environments, including development and various testing phases. You will identify and resolve issues raised against non-production environments, taking end-to-end ownership of user issues. Your role will involve developing and maintaining knowledge of all Equities, F&O, and cash market applications, product sets, and underlying technologies. You will implement improvement activities for processes and tools used by the team, aiming to enhance service quality and availability.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and implement the setup of application infrastructure on new non-production environments.
• Identify and resolve issues raised against non-production environments, taking end-to-end ownership.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of Equities, F&O, and cash market applications and technologies.
• Implement improvement activities for processes and tools used by the team.
• Enhance overall service quality and maximize service availability levels.
• Build strong relationships with Application Development, Test & Configuration Teams, and global environments teams.
• Understand client business needs and recommend application services that fit current and future needs.
• Communicate status clearly and effectively with end users and AD Services manager.
• Act as the first point of support for application incidents, logging calls and resolving issues.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve functional and technical problems through research and analysis.
• Assist in translating solutions into technical requirements and develop appropriate tools.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in a support role.
• Strong Unix skills, including good Shell Scripting (minimum 3 years).
• 2 years of experience with SQL/Sybase.
• Experience with Enterprise RDBMS (Sybase).
• Logical approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• 1 year of Python experience (desirable).
• Familiarity with quality guidelines, standards, and procedures.
• Experience as an Application Service Delivery Analyst or Production System Administrator.
• Understanding of demand-based lifecycle and importance of customer communication.
• Knowledge of Investment Banking (preferable).
