Senior Network Engineer

Chong Hua Hospital is hiring a highly motivated, dynamic, and experienced Senior Network Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the network implementation of IT projects related to new infrastructure, renovations, and the construction of new facilities. S/he focuses on validating network designs, overseeing implementation, and ensuring that the IT infrastructure aligns with project requirements and industry best practices. Additionally, s/he ensures the availability, reliability, security, and optimal performance of the network systems.

S/he also maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling of upgrades through collaborations with the stakeholders. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThese tasks are subject to change depending on the nature of service of the division/department or business direction. Provides assistance in planning and organizing relevant activities and schedules to ensure efficient delivery of service in the department and ensures meeting the expectations of the internal / external clients.

Sample tasks may be, but not limited to: Participates in the planning, designing, and implementation of data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems. Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving. Evaluate and recommend networking solutions, including structured cabling, switches, routers, and wireless networks for new facilities.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure proper implementation of IT network infrastructure. Assists and provides support to the coordinator, WAN/LAN, and other technology staff as requested including performing scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing internet and intranet user support, and specialized training. Assists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software.

Assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support. Performs inventory of telecommunications equipment. Performs daily server backups.

Implements and maintain network security policies and protocols. Conducts risk assessments and vulnerability testing to proactively address potential threats. Ensures all network installations comply with industry standards, security protocols, and company policies.

Maintains documentation for network design, project plans, and implementation guidelines. Generates performance reports and suggest improvements to optimize network efficiency. May be assigned in a project that aims to improve specific areas, working independently or with a cross-functional team.

May be tasked to make necessary recommendations on performance of team members or cross-functional team member. Provides analysis on processes, policies and procedures based on research or gathered data. Sample tasks may be, but not limited to:Analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems.

Researches and troubleshoots email problems by reviewing mail logs, records, and network configurations. Participates in the creation of or recommends updates and changes in the policies and procedures to continuously improve the quality of service in the unit/area. Guides employee actions through one's consistent practice and implementation of department's policies, procedures, methods and guidelines.

May be tasked to lead cross-functional team to deliver projects or special tasks designed to improve specific areas of services in the hospital such as, but not limited to, process improvement, review of policies, etc. Coordinates with Engineering and stakeholders to understand their IT and network requirements for new projects. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure network services support business operations effectively

Work with vendors to evaluate, recommend, and procure new network equipment and solutions. Communicate project updates, risks, and technical recommendations to management and project teams. Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks on network installations.

Responsible for the review and streamlining of processes and policies to continuously improve the quality of service in the department. Leads or directs the team or creates functional team to identify performance gaps and formulate strategic interventions to continuously improve on identified areas for improvement, when required

Oversees the development and placement of safety strategies and continuous quality improvement of service initiatives in the department. Actively involves oneself in the planning and execution of his/her professional development in collaboration with the immediate superior; monitors progress and completion of trainings required to establish his/her career or set for the next likely role. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or requested by immediate superior or management from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONSMust possess at least a bachelor's degree in engineering (Computer/Telecommunications), Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent. Must have five (5) years of working experience in IT-related disciplines, such as, but not limited to

Network Management: Network engineering e.g. Cisco switches, Network monitoring e.g. Solarwinds (preferred). Security Administration:End-point security software e.g. McAfee, Kaspersky, Sophos, Trend Micro, Forefront, etc. Firewall appliance e.g. Fortinet, WatchGuard, Cyber Roam, etc.

Knowledge in Database Platforms e.g. Sybase, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL (SQL profiler proficient). Storage Technologies e.g. EMC2, HP, NetApp, etc. IP-based phone systems (Asterisk-based desired)Microsoft technologies: Windows Server 2012, Active Directory Services, DNS, SSCM, SCOM, PowerShell, Exchange Server, Outlook, IIS, SharePoint, Lync, etc.

Virtualization technologies: (VMWare & Hyper-V) to apply to hardware, software, memory, storage, data and network.Healthcare industry experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of network architecture, structured cabling, wireless networks, and security best practices. Experience in reviewing network designs, coordinating implementations, and working with construction teams.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications. Working knowledge of DOS, Windows, Unix operating systems, Windows 7, Internet/Intranet technologies, IPCCTV, Cisco, IOS, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange 2010, End-Point Security, SCCM, SCOM, and PBX systems

Knowledge of Group Policies (testing, creating, implementing and advance troubleshooting) support domain and DC group policy security and audit policy settings.Knowledge of software implementation best practices

Understands security standards, with knowledge of information accessibility guidelines and data protection practices. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws as they relate to technology issues. Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management, analytical, and planning skills.

Able to deliver high quality tools and applications within set timelines; customer service driven with a problem-resolutionfocus. Ability to Identify and Align Technology and Industry Trends. Industry certification in Information Technology such as CISCO, Microsoft, CompTIA, etc. is required.

Demonstrated understanding of basic corporate office software, including Microsoft Office 365 applications. Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required.
