Senior Full Stack Developer

Role Overview

This is a hands-on IC role focused on owning and delivering features end-to-end, from database design and API development (Laravel) to highly responsive user interfaces (React Native, Laravel Blade). You will be instrumental in ensuring the platform is scalable, performant, and reliable for a high volume of users across the Arab market.

Key Responsibilities (Individual Contributor)

As a hands-on Full Stack Developer, you will:

End-to-End Feature Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features for the customer-facing Mobile App (React Native), Public Storefront (Laravel Blade), and Admin/Store Dashboards (Laravel Blade modules).

• Translate complex business requirements and UI/UX designs into high-quality, maintainable code.

• Ensure all applications are highly responsive, accessible, and performant on mobile devices and various browsers.

Backend & API Engineering (Laravel)

• Architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs using the Laravel Framework.

• Develop core business logic and data processing services using PHP 8.x and best practices.

• Integrate and manage the primary data store, MySQL 8.x, ensuring optimal data modeling, querying, and transaction integrity.

• Implement and secure integrations with external services like MyFatoorah (payments) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) (notifications).

Frontend Development (React Native & Blade)

• Build dynamic and component-based mobile interfaces using React Native and Redux.

• Develop and maintain server-rendered pages and dashboards using Laravel Blade.

• Focus on performance optimization (e.g., load times, bundle size) and code quality to deliver a seamless shopping experience.

System Scalability & DevOps

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (future enhancement from manual deploy) to ensure rapid and reliable deployment of new features.

• Manage dependencies using Composer and utilize Node/npm for asset compilation (e.g., Laravel Mix).

• Manage cloud resources (AWS/GCP/Azure) and monitor application performance, scaling infrastructure as needed to handle traffic peaks.

Technical Ownership (IC Responsibilities)

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the entire stack.

• Fully own assigned feature initiatives—from initial technical specification to production deployment and monitoring.

• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and drive best practices in engineering and architecture.

• Work independently while syncing closely with Product, Design, and QA teams during sprints.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of professional experience in full-stack web or mobile application development.

• Expert command of PHP (8.x) and the Laravel Framework (LTS) for API and web controller development.

• Strong expertise in React Native and Redux for cross-platform mobile app development.

• Proven experience working with MySQL (8.x), including schema design and query optimization.

• Strong experience with server-rendered HTML using Laravel Blade.

• Solid understanding of OAuth2 authentication flows and API security practices.

• Experience deploying, maintaining, and monitoring applications on Linux servers/cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience working on large-scale e-commerce or grocery apps (e.g., SM Malls Online, Robinsons, GrabMart, Shopee, Lazada, etc.).

• Experience with payments integration, specifically MyFatoorah.

• Experience in optimizing database performance for high-traffic applications.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
