About the Role

This role is responsible for designing and implementing complex Java backend solutions for enterprise web applications. The Sr. Java Developer builds and optimizes implementations of varying scale with minimal guidance, ensuring efficiency, security, and compliance with industry standards and business needs.

They tackle the more challenging features, act as subject matter experts for Java-related issues and provide mentorship to junior developers. The role also involves participating in planning sessions, offering feedback to align technical solutions with business goals, and, when needed, leading development efforts involving junior team members.

Full-time, WFH within the Philippines, mid-shift/US-overlap schedule; 13th-month pay, HMO (employee), and company-provided WFH equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-performance, scalable enterprise information architecture and distributed applications
  • Implement data integration and data access solutions across various legacy, enterprise, and departmental applications via web services, XML, SOA, WSDL, REST, and messaging services
  • Participate in code reviews, providing suggestions to improve quality and comply with architectural, design, and coding standards and best practices
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot application issues and bugs
  • Create and maintain web application architectural documentation and standards
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer to development and support teams
  • Maintain effective relationships with user department personnel
  • Lead development discussions with business/product owners and other IT team members as necessary.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of commercial or enterprise large-scale web application implementation, specifically Java 8+.
  • 5+ years of development and implementation of Web Services and/or Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • 5+ years of working experience with REST API.
  • 5+ years of API development platform experience.
  • 5+ years of working experience and expertise with Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Security) and Hibernate, JPA.
