About the Role:

Digital8 Inc. is seeking a creative and versatile Multimedia Artist Intern with a strong focus on content creation for our TV network, program shows, and advertising campaigns. This role demands a passion for visual storytelling and proficiency in a range of multimedia tools to develop engaging content across various platforms.

What you'll be doing:

  • Visual Content Creation:
  • Conceptualize and create compelling visual content, including graphics, animations, and basic video elements, for on-air broadcast, social media, website, and digital advertising.
  • Develop storyboards and visual concepts to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Design engaging graphics packages (lower thirds, full screens, infographics) for news segments, program shows, and promotional materials.
  • Create visually appealing social media content (graphics, short videos, GIFs) to enhance audience engagement.
  • Design website banners and other visual assets for our online platforms.
  • Video Production & Editing (Basic to Intermediate):
  • Assist in the pre-production process, including brainstorming ideas and developing visual treatments.
  • Perform video editing tasks, including trimming footage, adding graphics and text overlays, incorporating music and sound effects, and basic color correction.
  • Prepare video assets in various formats for different platforms (broadcast, web, social media).
  • Motion Graphics & Animation:
  • Create basic to intermediate motion graphics and animations to enhance visual storytelling and brand communication.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with producers, writers, marketing teams, and other content creators to understand project objectives and deliver effective visual solutions.
  • Present design concepts and ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Incorporate feedback and make revisions based on team input.
  • Asset Management & Organization:
  • Organize and maintain digital asset libraries, ensuring easy access and efficient workflows.
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and ensure visual consistency across all created content.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or vocational diploma in Multimedia Arts, Graphic Design, Film, Animation, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of visual design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.
  • Basic to intermediate video editing skills.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and animation principles is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for creating engaging and impactful visual content.
