Assists in creating demand-side sales forecasts for sales and production planning purposes. He/ She shall provide detailed trend analyses, both monthly and longer-range trends that predict and explain how the business is expected to perform. Also, he/she shall act as the Customer's representative and is responsible for communicating relevant information and issues from the Customer's side to the Plant and vice-versa.
DEMAND & SUPPLY MANAGEMENT
- Analyze historical demand information plus other variables and incorporate raw sales forecasts submitted by salesmen to be able to generate a projected 12-month rolling demand forecast in weekly and monthly buckets. This includes analysis and fine-tuning of individual and grouped item-demand forecasts.
- Conduct monthly forecast meetings with the appropriate Brand and Sales Teams. Work closely with each team to ensure that the customer/brand team requirements are clearly communicated to Supply Chain. Pay special attention to the previous month's forecast accuracy, new items and changes in distribution. Provide guidance and assistance to understanding trends and potential future impact.
- Extract inventory data from the system and integrate order lead times to the demand forecast to come up with replenishment plan based on set inventory levels to meet Customer demand.
- Review and submit the final demand and supply plan to Affiliates and seek for their approval prior to entry into the ERP system.
- Analyze and monitor door-to-door shipment performance versus the monthly forecast goal. Measure the pace at which the forecast is being consumed. Perform What-If Analysis on significant demand changes and work closely with Planning and with supporting supply chain functions to decide if any adjustment to the replenishment plan is required.
- Coordinate the development of short and mid term demand and supply plans.
ORDER FULFILLMENT SUPPORT
- Coordinate with Planning and monitor the work order schedule to be able to notify the Affiliates Team if there are potential problems in meeting Customer Demand and propose/ inform the Affiliates Team with the alternative schedule.
- Monitor supply and demand imbalances and communicates/escalates, as appropriate.
KPI TRACKING AND REPORTING
- Develop and report on all demand/forecast accuracy measurements using prescribed metrics. Develop metrics required to effectively measure forecast performance
- Maintain scheduling and demand history files for each MPS / MRP
- Track forecast performance at various levels (i.e. customer, brand, type, material etc.) for all items. Determine root cause of forecast variances and communicate results. Be able to explain forecast performance measures and results on request. Validate all service failures attributed to poor demand plans. Develop and implement action plans for improving forecast performance and reducing bias.
- Track significant forecast-to-actual unit variances and recommends appropriate revisions to the demand plan
- Provide monthly forecast statistical and key account analysis reports for review and analysis by management. Generate weekly and daily reports to complete a detailed view of sales performance and predict future performance.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & SYSTEMS SUPPORT
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and assist in the improvement process to support efficient forecasting and replenishments.
- Develop advanced statistical forecasting methods and tools to improve forecast accuracy. Develop methodology necessary to incorporate data in preparing both sales forecast and tracking.
- Formulate and implement continuous improvement projects ( KAIZEN ).
CUSTOMER FOCUS
- Represent the customer's interests. Ensure that decisions involving Production is not solely based on what is most efficient for the shop. Raise concerns that will lead to agreements that will both benefit Operations and Customer.
- Keep the Customer informed of their order status and provides answers regarding demand fulfillment. On the other hand, he shall keep the Plant and the Planning Team informed of what is happening in the Customer's end.
- Keep the customer informed of potential inventory outages.
- Handle customer complaints in coordination with Customer Service.
