Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, sanitize, and disinfect patient rooms, wards, restrooms, hallways, operating rooms, and other hospital areas.
  • Change and properly handle bed linens, pillows, and patient care supplies in accordance with hospital infection control standards.
  • Collect, segregate, and dispose of hospital waste (general, infectious, sharps, and hazardous waste) following DOH/OSHS protocols.
  • Operate cleaning machines and disinfecting equipment (e.g., UV light machines, floor polishers).
  • Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
  • Report damages, spills, or safety hazards immediately to the housekeeping supervisor or nurse in charge.
  • Assist in terminal cleaning of patient rooms and operating areas after discharge or procedures.
  • Practice and follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures at all times.
  • Observe hospital safety protocols, especially in handling biohazards and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other housekeeping-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least High School Graduate (Vocational training NCII in housekeeping or healthcare sanitation is an advantage).
  • Preferably with experience in hospital or healthcare housekeeping, but not required (training will be provided).
  • Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection practices in healthcare settings is an advantage.
  • Familiar with hospital waste management protocols (infectious, sharps, hazardous, general).
  • Physically fit to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, long hours of walking/standing.
  • With good personal hygiene and neat appearance.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Trustworthy, responsible, and detail-oriented.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must comply with hospital safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies.
