Job Summary

We are looking for a Japanese Interpreter / Translator to support our Japanese Representative and assist with day-to-day operations in a growing start-up environment. The primary responsibility of this role is interpretation and translation between Japanese and English, with additional administrative and operational support duties as needed. Training and guidance will be provided, making this role ideal for candidates who are flexible and eager to grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities1. Interpretation & Translation (Primary Role)

• Provide real-time interpretation for the Japanese Representative (non-English speaker) during internal meetings, trainings, and external coordination
• Translate documents such as training manuals, SOPs, reports, and other materials between Japanese and English (JP EN)
• Assist in the preparation, management, and submission of required documents to Japan Headquarters
• Handle document control, filing, and record management

2. Operational & Administrative Support (Secondary Role)

As part of a start-up company, the role requires flexibility to support various departments when Japanese staff are unavailable, including:

• QA Support: Assist with documentation and coordination tasks
• HR Support: Support recruitment activities, employee records, and HR documentation
• Administrative Support: General office administration, supplies management, and visitor assistance

Training and guidance will be provided. Prior experience in these support roles is not required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proficiency in Japanese and English (both written and verbal)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to take on multiple responsibilities in a start-up environment
• Basic computer skills (MS Office / Google Workspace)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
• Experience in interpretation, translation, or administrative work is an advantage but not required
