Responsible of stowage planning, he will coordinate with vessel master and chief officer for the recommended stowage plan with safe vessel stability. coordinate with north port in charge of cargo to load of the vessel and in charge for the on time submission of the approved stowage plan.

He will report to deputy port captain if any problem to be encounter during the process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Stowage Planning:

a. Create and implement detailed stowage plans to optimized the placement of containers on the vessels.

b. Ensure proper weight distribution and vessel stability according international maritime regulations.

c. Consider various factors such as port rotation, container type, weight, and hazardouz materials.

  1. Coordination w/terminal operation and vessel officer:

a. Send important container details (like destination, container, type, size, weight, and where it should be placed on the ship) to the port in charge and the vessel crew. by doing this via email, messenger, sms using data from the north port navis system.

  1. Stowage Plan Review:

a. After recieving the stowage plan from the vessel officer, use the information to finalized the loading list. this list is based on inyard report provided by the terminal cargo control (CCO).

  1. Loading Plan Creation:

a. Use an excel sheet to create a detailed loading plan. compare it to the load list to ensure everything matches. once done, send this plan to the north port vessel planner, who will in put it into the navis system for the final pre-plan.

  1. Plan Confirmation:

a. Make sure that the stowage plan is approved by the ships master and chief officer before proceeding.

  1. Vessel Monitoring Tracking Sheet:

a. Update Regularly: as recieve new information about the vessel status, update the relevant cells in the excel sheet. this could be done hourly, or as new updates come in.

b. Highlight important changes: use color coding or conditional formatting to highlight       important changes or updates, such as delays in arrival or changes in the vessels.

c. Share The Sheet: if others need access to the updated vessel information, share the excel file or make it available on a shared platform (like google sheets or a company internet).

d. Archive Historical Data: Periodically, can archive older data (like completed voyages) to keep the main tracking sheet clean and focused on current vessel movements.

  1. Monitoring Vessel GM (metacentric height) for vessel stability and safety:

a. Monitor Stability: compare the GM value with the recommended safe range for the vessel. a higher GM generally indicates better stability, but if its too high or lower GM it could be a potential stability issues.

b. Record Post-Loading GM: ensure that the post loading GM also falls within the safe range to confirm the vessels stability before departure.

  1. Determining and Recording Stowage for Dangerous Goods (DG):

a. Check DG Documentation: review the dangerous goods manifest and relevant documentation provided by the shipper. this will include important details like the UN number, class of dangerous goods, and any special handling instructions.

b. Consult the IMDG Code: use the international maritime dangerous goods (IMDG code to determine the appropriate stowage requirements for the specific type of dangerous goods. the IMDG code will specify whether the cargo should be stowed on deck, underdeck, or either is acceptable, based on the hazards classification.

c. Determine Stowage Requirements:

  • Deck load: if the DG must be stowed on deck due to ventilation requirements, risk of contamination, or other factors.

- Under deck: if the DG can be safely stowed below deck, protected from weather and secured.

- Either if the DG can be stowed either on deck or under deck, depending on space and other operational considerations.

d. Communicate with CY checkers and sales: share the stowage instructions with CY checkers and sales to ensure the DG is placed in the correct location during loading.

  1. South Port Monitoring:

a. Monitoring all ports in the south, ensuring everything is updated, including dock and secure time as well as the load list for TONs and TEUs record for stowage planning.

  1. Cargo Space and Weight Coordination:

a. Ensuring Timely Cargo Capacity Reporting for Optimized and loading Operations: this emphasizes the roles responsibility for providing cargo space and weight data to sales representatives, enabling efficient vessel loading upon arrival.
