Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
- Oversee day-to-day procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality purchasing.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, supplier contracts, and related documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to maintain optimal stock availability.
- Implement best practices in sourcing, supplier evaluation, and vendor negotiations.
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Establish, implement, and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies in procurement operations.
- Monitor and report departmental KPIs, providing management with insights and recommendations for improvement.
Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise, guide, and evaluate subordinates, ensuring clear task delegation and accountability.
- Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to strengthen the teams skills and capabilities.
- Conduct regular team meetings to align objectives, review progress, and address challenges.
- Foster a collaborative work culture that promotes teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with other departments to support operational requirements and organizational priorities.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless workflow and alignment with business objectives. Perform other related responsibilities as may be assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in procurement, preferably within a sales or trading company
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
