Batching Supervisor

The Batching Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all activities related to the batching process, ensuring the accurate and efficient batching of materials according to specifications, safety standards, and production schedules. This role involves direct supervision of batching operators, managing resources, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a high level of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Batching Oversight:

• Plan, organize, and direct daily batching operations to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Oversee the accurate staging, measuring, and loading of raw materials according to batching instructions and formulations.
• Monitor the batching process, including mixing times, and other critical parameters, to ensure consistent quality.
• Identify and resolve batching issues, equipment malfunctions, and process deviations in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., R&D, Quality Control, Warehouse, Engineering, PPIC & Production) to ensure smooth operations and material flow.
• Optimize batching processes for efficiency, yield, and cost reduction.

Quality Control & Compliance:

• Ensure strict adherence to all quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, HALAL and customer specifications.
• Conduct regular in-process quality checks and ensure accurate documentation of all batching activities and results.
• Investigate and address any quality-related issues, implement corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials and finished batches, ensuring proper traceability.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Supervise, train, mentor, and coach a team of batching operators.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Conduct performance appraisals and address employee relations issues as needed.
• Ensure team members are compliant with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology) or any related.

Experience:

• at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Prior experience in batching operations (e.g., food/beverage) is highly preferred.
• Experience with HACCP, FSSC, GMP and HALAL certification.

Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting production schedules, formulas, and technical documents.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
