Job Description
The Technical Support Engineer or IT & Software Maintenance Engineer is responsible for delivering on-site and remote support for software applications and IT infrastructure. The role ensures smooth installation, operation, integration, and maintenance of servers, storage, network devices, and related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site surveys, installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of software applications and IT equipment, including Servers, Storage Systems, Switches, and Firewalls.
- Provide technical support to customers via remote access or onsite troubleshooting to resolve system, application, and hardware issues.
- Coordinate and interface with third-party vendors or partners to identify and resolve technical issues encountered during system integration.
- Deliver onsite maintenance support for critical or escalated incidents that cannot be resolved by the customer or subcontractor, following the required SLA.
- Manage and handle technical cases through the ticketing system, ensuring timely updates and tracking throughout the resolution process.
- Perform preventive maintenance on IT equipment and software applications to ensure system reliability and minimize downtime.
- Document installation procedures, troubleshooting steps, and technical findings for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Assist in system upgrades, patch deployments, configuration changes, and other improvement activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth project rollouts and post-deployment support.
- Provide basic user training or system orientation when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Familiar with one or more of the following OCS/Mobile Money/CRM/Billing software product technologies and related solutions, such as operating system, database, network, security, storage, server, cloud computing, big data, and PaaS.
- 1–3 years experience in IT support, system maintenance, or application support
- Knowledge in server, storage, switch, and firewall installation/troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of Windows/Linux servers and network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN).
- Experience using ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work onsite when needed.
Salary: Salary offer will be determined based on the applicant's current or previous compensation. Rest assured, the final offer will include an increase from their current pay.
