Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize SMT assembly processes, including stencil design, solder paste printing, pick-and-place programming, reflow soldering, and automated optical inspection (AOI).
- Create and maintain machine programs for SMT equipment (e.g., pick-and-place, screen printers, reflow ovens, AOI/X-ray).
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by collaborating with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and smooth production ramp-up.
- Monitor and analyze process performance, yield, and defect trends; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SMT processes, equipment, and materials.
- Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
- Partner with suppliers to evaluate new materials, equipment, and process improvements.
- Train production staff and technicians on best practices, equipment operation, and process control.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (IPC, ISO) and internal quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in SMT process engineering, electronics manufacturing, or PCB assembly.
- Hands-on experience with SMT equipment such as screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and AOI/X-ray systems.
- Strong understanding of soldering processes, IPC-A-610/IPC-J-STD standards, and SMT defect analysis.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for PCB design and programming SMT equipment.
- Problem-solving mindset with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities in a cross-functional team environment.
- Willing to render overtime or shifting schedule
