Job Summary

The QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for leading the automation of UI regression tests, API testing, and doing manual testing for new and existing features, gaining a deep understanding of the system, and then automating those tests.

Responsibilities

Manual Testing & System Understanding

  • Perform functional manual testing of new features to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the application, workflows, and system integrations.
  • Identify edge cases and potential areas of failure before automating tests.
  • Document test scenarios, test cases, and defects based on manual testing findings.

Test Automation Development

  • Convert manually tested scenarios into automated UI test scripts using Selenium with Python.
  • Develop API automation scripts using Postman, or Python Requests/Pytest.
  • Maintain and enhance test automation frameworks for scalability and maintainability.
  • Ensure automation scripts are version-controlled (Git, Azure Repos) and CI/CD-ready.
  • Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous testing.
  • Utilize Docker to containerize automation environments for consistency.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA analysts to define test cases and automation priorities.
  • Execute automated and manual test cases, analyze results, and report defects effectively.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both manual and automated testing.
  • Conduct performance and load testing using tools like JMeter, k6, or Locust.

Process & Improvement:

  • Continuously improve test automation frameworks, testing strategies, and best practices.
  • Identify and transition repetitive manual test cases into automated scripts.
  • Stay updated with the latest test automation tools, frameworks, and CI/CD best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum of at least 3 years of relevant experience in quality assurance and software testing

  • Must-have technical skills:

  • Manual Testing Expertise - Ability to thoroughly test new features before automating them.

  • Programming Languages - Strong proficiency in Python
  • UI Automation - Hands-on experience with Selenium
  • API Testing & Automation - Experience with Postman, RestAssured, or Python Requests library.
  • CI/CD Integration - Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines for test automation execution.
  • Version Control - Proficiency with Git, Azure Repos, or GitHub Actions.
  • Containerization & Virtualization - Experience with Docker for automation environments.
  • Test Frameworks - Knowledge of Gauge or other automation frameworks.
  • ISTQB certification is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Grafana, ServiceNow, PEGA, Vue.Js, C#.Net, and Rest API technologies
  • Amenable to work on a day shift work schedule in Ortigas (AU working hours, Hybrid work setup)
