Graphic Designer Wanted – Design Our Quirky, Legendary Plumbing Mascot (Contract Role)
Calling all visionary illustrators and character designers from the Philippines
Hi there I'm the Head of People and culture at Hot Tanks, a bold new plumbing company that's reimagining how trades-based businesses appear in the world—with clean lines, strong values, and serious brand swagger. We believe in tight craftsmanship, high vibes, and design that makes people care.
We're looking for a freelance graphic designer with serious character design skills to help us bring our brand mascot to life.
This is a contract role for a single-character mascot design (with the potential for ongoing creative work if we get along well).
The Mission
Create a mascot character that becomes the heart and soul of our brand — something our community loves, our team rallies around, and that shows up proudly on everything from uniforms to vans to TikTok. We're talking personality, presence, and plumbing power.
You'll Be:
Concepting and illustrating a memorable, on-brand mascot for a modern plumbing company
Collaborating with our founder and brand strategist to refine look, attitude, and usage
Delivering multiple initial sketches/concepts, then developing 1 final, polished version.
Providing layered source files (AI/PSD), transparent PNGs, and print/web-ready assets
Who You Are:
A talented visual storyteller with a strong portfolio of mascot or character design
Wildly creative, detail-focused, and easy to work with
Familiar with modern, playful branding and design for real-world business applications
Comfortable with feedback and iteration — we want this character to have depth
Bonus points if you have animation skills, comic-book-style flair, or experience in trades-based branding.
Project Budget:
We're targeting $200–CAD 400, depending on experience and portfolio strength.
Fixed price, paid via Wise (we're good payers – promise)
