Job Summary:

As Front of the House (FOH) Staff, you'll be the face of Bakery Felt, ensuring every customer is welcomed with a smile and leaves with a memorable experience. Your role includes customer service, sales support, and maintaining a clean and cozy environment that reflects the quality and values of our locally sourced pastry products.

Job Qualifications/ Skills

  • Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service
  • Take orders accurately and handle transactions through the POS system
  • Share product knowledge about our locally sourced pastries and beverages
  • Package and serve products with care and attention to detail
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the dining and service areas
  • Monitor product displays and restock as needed
  • Handle customer feedback or concerns with professionalism
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and baking team for smooth order flow
  • Assist in opening or closing duties as assigned
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Job Description:

1. Customer Service: Providing exceptional customer service is the primary responsibility of Front of House staff. This includes greeting customers, taking orders, answering questions, and ensuring that customers have a positive experience.

  1. Taking Orders: FOH staff take food and drink orders from customers. They must accurately record orders transactions through the POS system and convey special requests to the BOH staff.

  2. Handling Payments: Processing payments from customers, whether through cash, credit cards, or other forms of payment. This may also involve operating a cash register or point-of-sale system.

  3. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the store clean and organized is important for creating a pleasant environment for customers. FOH staff may be responsible for tasks such as clearing tables, wiping down surfaces, and restocking supplies.

  4. Assisting Other Staff: FOH staff works closely with other team members, including BOH staff, to ensure smooth operations. This may involve helping to run food to tables, communicating special requests to the kitchen, or assisting with special events or promotions.

  5. Upselling and Promotions: FOH staff may be responsible for promoting special menu items, pastries, or promotions to customers in order to increase sales and enhance the customer experience.

  6. Handling Customer Concerns: Resolving customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner is an important aspect of Front of House roles. FOH staff should be prepared to address issues such as incorrect orders, long wait times, or dissatisfaction with the service.

  7. All other duties or ad hoc tasks as assigned by immediate superior.
