Job Summary

The Principal Engineer role provides critical thinking and a high degree of technical innovation and attention to detail while being recognized as a trusted advisor to the team and stakeholders. The characteristics include being versatile, displaying leadership qualities, stake holder management and enthusiasm to take on new problems across the full SDLC to drive Digital Channels & platform forward.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for the leading the build out of the digital channel platforms like Mobile platform and web Micro frontends that will simplify the development for our feature teams. You will be providing the technical leadership in driving modern tech and leading industry best practices into the team. In addition to your strong technical capability, you will be a proven team player, independent thinker and have a collaborative attitude towards your work and colleagues

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years Technology experience in a similar role, technology or software development environment.
  • 10+ years in application development and / or support roles in Digital Channels
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Domain experience (e.g., SME, Technology or Tools)
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies
  • Experience in React, React Native, Android and iOS
  • Experience with API design and development, including RESTful and SOAP web services
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum and Jira
  • Understanding of security principles and experience implementing security controls in a software development environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with the Digital Channels Technologies is highly desire
  • Stakeholder management; ability to communicate both strategically and at an operational level;
  • Able to present well formed problems and solutions; making effective decisions that balance business, technology and risk needs.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team of engineers and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
