Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our production team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing print-ready files that meet industry standards, ensuring the integrity of client designs, and optimising files for our diverse print capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and preflight files for offset, digital, and label printing processes.
- Work across a wide range of printed products including brochures, books, labels, and large-format signage.
Use Adobe InDesign at an expert level, including:
Creating and applying paragraph and character styles
- Building and using nested styles
- Managing multi-page documents with consistent formatting
- Ensure all artwork meets internal and industry print standards, including bleed, resolution, colour profiles, spot colour filed preparation.
- Perform image colour correction (not essential)
- Liaise with designers, account managers, and production staff to ensure files are prepared accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with clients via email in a professional tone and conciseness communication – through to proof approval.
- Maintain an organised workflow and file structure for easy retrieval and version control.
- Keep up to date with advancements in software, printing techniques, and best practices.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a prepress or similar print production role.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Esko experience highly desirable
- Solid understanding of colour theory, print production standards, and file formats.
- Experience with both CMYK and spot colour workflows.
- High attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with imposition and RIP software (e.g., Fuji XMF, EFI Fiery, Esko, or similar) is advantageous.
