Job Summary

The Automation Quality Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests using Playwright and related tools. This role ensures that systems and software releases meet agreed-upon business requirements and quality standards through robust testing strategies. The position contributes to the improvement of QA processes and collaborates closely with QA, Development, and Business teams to support efficient software delivery.

Key Responsibilities1. Test Automation & Quality Assurance

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
  • Apply automation frameworks and tools to validate web-based applications.
  • Execute test plans covering functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Review and analyze business requirements to develop relevant test cases.
  • Collaborate with manual testers to identify test cases for automation.
  • Participate in peer reviews of test scripts, reports, and test plans.
  • Write clear and comprehensive defect reports and test summary documentation.
  • Maintain and improve the existing automation framework and test environment.
  • Contribute to test effort estimations for small to medium-sized projects.

Process Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to internal SDLC, QA standards, and CMMI processes.
  • Create, monitor, and report progress of automation initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit test summary reports and/or acceptance test certificates.
  • Participate in internal reviews and validations to ensure process compliance.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Work closely with QA team members, developers, project managers, and business analysts.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and provide guidance on automation best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment and support team objectives.

Continuous Learning & Development

  • Stay updated on current QA tools, trends, and technologies.
  • Continuously enhance technical and domain knowledge relevant to projects.
  • Identify and recommend process and tool improvements.

Other Duties

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to other sites when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of manual testing experience and 3 years in test automation using Playwright.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, C, C#) and scripting.
  • Knowledge of automation frameworks (BDD, KDT, DDT) and tools like Postman, SoapUI.
  • Familiarity with API testing (REST API) and backend automation.
  • Hands-on experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC (Agile & Waterfall).
  • Experience in preparing master test plans and using test design techniques.
  • Background in manufacturing, financial, or distribution systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to work on a shifting schedule and extended hours as needed.
