The Ophthalmology Technician Nurse will assist ophthalmologists in the assessment and care of patients by operating diagnostic equipment and conducting preliminary testing. This role requires a blend of clinical nursing skills and technical proficiency in ophthalmic diagnostic tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, including:
- Perimetry Machine
- Fundus Camera
- OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) Machine
- Specular Microscope
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure proper positioning for accurate imaging and testing.
- Collect and record patient medical history, visual acuity, and other baseline measurements.
- Support the ophthalmologist in clinic flow, patient education, and post-procedure care instructions.
- Ensure equipment calibration, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in documentation and filing of diagnostic reports in coordination with the clinic team.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid PRC license
- At least 1–2 years of experience in an eye center, ophthalmology clinic, or diagnostic facility
- Hands-on experience with the above-listed ophthalmic equipment is required
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
