Recruitment Process
We aim to complete the recruitment process within seven to ten calendar days, unless impacted by month-end closing activities or candidate availability. We are hiring multiple team members for this role.
Throughout the recruitment process, were looking for professionals who demonstrate strong communication skills and confidence, as the role involves handling U.S. clients and direct client interactions. We seek individuals who are highly innovative, AI-driven, and possess strong leadership potential to contribute to our culture of continuous improvement and transformation.
Steps in the process:
- Initial Interview (30 to 45 minutes)
A conversation to get to know you, your background, and your motivation for joining VargasAndrews. - Behavioral Interview (60 to 90 minutes)
An in-depth discussion focusing on real-life scenarios to assess communication skills, problem-solving, leadership abilities, and your approach to innovation. - Technical Interview (60 minutes)
A detailed evaluation of your technical skills, knowledge relevant to the role, and your ability to leverage modern tools and AI solutions in your work. - Pre-engagement - Reference Check and I.T. Audit

Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
- Update accounts payable, vendor management, and perform reconciliations.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and month-end required reports.
- Handle payroll-related tasks such as schedule preparation, monthly or bi-weekly computations, deductions and additions related to payroll, and other necessary tasks.
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information is accurate and immediately available when needed.
- Record accruals and prepayments, ensuring that financial data is readily available for analysis and reporting.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
- Assist with other accounting projects as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- CPA License preferred but not required
- At least 5 years of accounting work experience
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills
- Excellent report writing, communication, and knowledge of computer applications relevant to the work
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel
- Intermediate user proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero accounting software
- Ability to stay focused on goals and maintain strong attention to detail
- Critical thinker with high proficiency in math
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to follow Pacific Standard Time zone
Essential Functions:
- 50% Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded. Update accounts receivable and issue invoices. Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports. Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
- 25% Update financial data in databases to ensure that information is accurate and immediately available when needed. Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings. Assist with other accounting projects.
- 10% Accounting process improvement tasks in coordination with the Senior Accountant and Fractional Controller.
- 15% Other accounting tasks, including invoicing, billing, taxes, and compliance, under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.
Additional Role Requirements:
- Client Engagement: This role will handle clients in the U.S. It requires strong communication skills and confidence, as you will be working directly with clients and engaging in conversations that demand professionalism, clarity, and the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Minimum of 3+ years accounting experience working with US clients or US accounting standards
- Business proficient level English skills required for effective direct communication with US clients
