The Company

A long-established Australian software company founded in 1984, specializing in ERP systems, business intelligence, and analytics for various industries including mining. With over 60 employees across multiple offices, it delivers digital transformation solutions to clients in Australia and globally.

Responsibilities

• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
• Modify code and adapt software to fix errors, improve its performance, and/or upgrade interfaces.
• Provide Business Analysts, Module Leads and Support with assistance in application or technical problems.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing code.
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
• Identify potential problems early and act or escalate to prevent their occurrence.
• Provide input into the evolution of the company product by identifying logical solution options.
• Identify areas for modification in existing software and subsequently develop these modifications.
• Undertake test and validation procedures.
• Consult with modules on backlog status.
• Work with modules on technical issues including system design and maintenance.
• Participate in Client Demonstrations and/or project implementation, as needed.
• Stay abreast of industry and technical standards.
• Any additional duties as reasonably required by the Company.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+ features like arrow functions, destructuring, modules, promises, async/await).
• HTML & CSS – Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3 for building and styling web components.
• Knowledge of CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS (optional but helpful).
• Minimum of 2 years in React Fundamentals – Understanding of React concepts such as components, JSX, state, props, lifecycle methods, and hooks (useState, useEffect, etc.); ability to build reusable components and manage component state.
• Tools & Libraries – Familiarity with package managers like npm or yarn; experience with React Router for navigation; knowledge of state management tools like Redux, Context API, or MobX (optional depending on project size).
• Development Environment – Knowledge of code editors like Visual Studio Code and basic command-line skills.
• Build Tools & Bundlers – Understanding of build tools like Webpack, Babel, or Create React App.
• Version Control – Experience with Git and platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
• Testing – Basic knowledge of testing frameworks like Jest or React Testing Library.
• Deployment – Familiarity with deploying React apps to platforms like Netlify, Vercel, or traditional web hosts.
• Soft Skills – Problem-solving skills, ability to learn and adapt, and good communication skills for collaboration.

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Excel.
• Proven capabilities in project and user-testing management.
• Proven implementation management of innovative and impactful solutions.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Location

• Home-based ; Equipment is provided. Should have strong internet connection (minimum of 20 mbps)
