Role Accountability & Functions
- Build scalable reporting, provide actionable insights, and improve the efficiency of business development operations
- Design and automate high-quality analytical solutions that enhance visibility into business performance and empower data-driven decision making.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and automate manual processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and models that track performance, pipeline health, and revenue opportunities.
- Conduct targeted analyses to address business questions.
- Design repeatable, automated reporting solutions for ongoing needs.
- Combine data from multiple systems (financial, operational, and CRM) to create reliable datasets that inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to align on key metrics, validate data, and ensure consistency in reporting.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and automate manual processes.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear, compelling way to business and executive stakeholders.
Opportunity Underwriting & Financial Analysis
Opportunity Modeling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to underwrite and assess the potential profitability, risk, and return on investment (ROI) of prospective sales opportunities.
- Pricing & Margin Analysis: Work closely with the Sales team to analyze proposed pricing structures, ensuring alignment with corporate margin targets and competitive market intelligence.
- Risk Assessment: Identify key financial and operational risks associated with new business opportunities and present objective assessments to Sales leadership and the pricing committee.
- Performance Forecasting: Develop robust revenue and volume forecasts for potential opportunities, integrating market data and historical sales performance metrics.
Data Management & Business Intelligence
Data Aggregation & Cleaning: Manage and consolidate large, complex datasets from various sources (e.g., CRM, financial systems, market reports) to ensure data accuracy and integrity for analysis.
- Reporting & Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain high-impact dashboards and standardized reports that provide the Sales team with timely, accurate, and easily digestible insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), pipeline health, and opportunity status.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses to investigate specific trends, anomalies, or performance gaps identified by the Sales or Executive teams.
- Tool Proficiency: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for sales reporting tools and platforms (e.g., advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, CRM reporting).
- Report to work in a regular and timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience level: 2-3 years of experience in sales analytics, business intelligence, or operations, with strong preference to experience in the logistics industry.
- Education level: College degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration, Data Science, or similar, preferred.
- Ability to communicate insights effectively in English to a diverse audience, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deliver ad hoc analyses and automated reporting solutions.
- Ability to integrate and analyze data from multiple disparate sources.
- Skilled in building data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Proficient in SQL for querying and data manipulation.
- Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks in a manner that enables timely completion.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
Working in a seated or standing position up to and exceeding eight (8) hours per day.
Using a calculator, mouse, and keyboard and viewing computer screens.
Using a telephone or virtual telephone via PC.
Schedule and Location
- Schedule: This is a full-time position scheduled to work Monday-Friday, 8a-4pm Pacific time, subject to change by business demands.
- Location: This is a remote-based position. No travel is required.
Compensation
- $12-$15/hour USD
