About this role. . .

Our Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring sound financial governance, accurate reporting, and smooth day-to-day operation of accounting processes. This role is central to financial planning and budgeting, providing insights and support to help guide the company's growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing end-of-month management accounts, financial analysis, and reporting to leadership.
• Managing cash flow forecasting, overseas supplier payments, and foreign currency transactions.
• Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including debt collection and credit control.
• Managing tax compliance including BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax, FBT, and company tax obligations.
• Maintaining Fixed Asset and Financing Registers and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Overseeing insurance renewals, claims, and coverage adequacy.
• Reviewing contract terms and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Providing financial insights to support strategic planning and business proposals.
• Supervising and mentoring your finance assistant.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA/CA highly regarded).
• 5+ years' finance management experience, ideally in an FMCG import/wholesale trading environment where the business has a large inventory holding.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI).
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and financial compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the business.
• Experience leading or supervising staff.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Organised and able to meet deadlines
