Job Description

A third engineer is a licensed maritime officer responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of a ship's engine room machinery and auxiliary systems, such as generators, pumps, and boilers. Key duties include standing watch, performing routine maintenance, supervising junior staff, managing fuel and lubricants, and keeping detailed logs and reports. They ensure machinery runs efficiently and safely while complying with all maritime regulations.
