Job Summary

The Tank Design Engineer is responsible for the complete design and development lifecycle of storage tanks, from performing engineering calculations and material specifications to creating detailed 3D models and production drawings. The role includes conducting dimensional and structural analyses, ensuring compliance with project and client standards, preparing fabrication documentation and material requisitions, and providing technical support to the engineering team to ensure overall project success.

  • Produce engineering drawings such as general arrangements (GA), fabrication drawings, and detailed tank drawings.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations including plate thickness, structural member sizing, and dimensional verification.
  • Prepare material requisition documents and technical specifications.
  • Ensure quality of deliverables and on-time submission in accordance with client requirements.
  • Review outputs to ensure compliance with project and client standards.
  • Create 3D models and conduct dimensional checks using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Perform other related tasks to support Civil and Structural Engineering operations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be a Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) or RCE
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in the design or detailing of full containment tanks, oil tanks, pressure vessels, and related accessories.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor; familiarity with FEMAP, ABAQUS, or automation scripting is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including P&ID, piping isometrics, and structural plans.
  • Familiarity with major industry codes and standards (ASME, API, EN, JIS).
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and good interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, deliver high-quality outputs, and handle conflicting priorities and deadlines.
