About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in Azure and Databricks to join our data team supporting initiatives in the Banking and Financial Services sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern data engineering practices and a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable data pipelines in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure and Databricks
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
  • Optimize and manage data workflows to support real-time and batch data processing
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are implemented
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and issues
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices within the data engineering team

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Data Engineering or related roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake)
  • Proven experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake)
  • Background in the Banking or Financial Services industry is required
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and version control (e.g., Git)
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts
  • Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and security protocols in financial institutions

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with CI/CD in a data engineering context
  • Exposure to ML Ops or supporting data science workflows
