About the role. . .

The role will be working closely with the client to support the business and manage the following tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Telephone and email queries, correspondence and general customer services (for internal and external clients)
  • Processing client application and redemption transactions
  • Completion of client review reports in a timely manner
  • Prepare appropriate documentation prior to client meetings
  • Managing and documenting the ongoing client service process for each financial advisor to ensure expectations are continually exceeded by delivery
  • Prepare necessary research and investment data to communicate to clients on their ongoing portfolio management objectives
  • Assisting with other team duties as required
  • Proactively engage with clients, displaying courtesy and professionalism
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, developing and maintaining good relationships and fostering client confidence
  • Meet the client's needs by developing an understanding of their business and the commercial environment in which they operate
  • Ensure that any commitments made to clients are followed through and expectations are met
  • Ensure that the team is kept informed of any issues which may affect a client relationship
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the firm's products and services and key client messages
  • Ensure effective record keeping and daily timesheet recording
  • Take responsibility for achieving productive time budgets
  • Learn to effectively manage tasks and complete these in the given time
  • Demonstrate an understanding of what is chargeable and not chargeable to the client
  • Proactively display and maintain an understanding of the skills, knowledge and competencies required to perform the role at this level
  • Use opportunities to work with others to continually build a substantial knowledge and skill base
  • Assess own performance based on specific evidence, play an active role in regular performance meetings and the firm's scheduled performance reviews, and have an awareness of areas for further development
  • Seek and make regular contact with a career mentor
  • Attend internal & external training sessions as required
  • Participate effectively in all meetings, from team meetings to special purpose committee meetings, ensure that action points assigned are completed and deadlines met
  • Identify issues and independently seek a resolution, utilising the support and knowledge of colleagues
  • Utilizes daily behaviours and team communication models
  • Complete any administrative and ad hoc tasks as required by the team
  • Have a thorough understanding of the firms vision and culture and actively contribute to this

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in client service (financial planning)
  • Completed or nearing completion of a related degree in financial planning (preferred) or finance
  • Undertaking or willingness to undertake further study that will lead to accreditation in becoming a Certified Financial Advisor
  • Computer and technology savvy. Demonstrate an increasing proficiency in operating the software used across the firm, such as Microsoft Office and wrap platforms, such as Macquarie, BT, Asgard
  • General knowledge of financial planning concepts and strategies (including superannuation, investments, income streams, insurance, debt management, gearing and Centrelink)
  • General understanding of superannuation and insurance options, including Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF), superannuation switching analysis and insurance analysis
  • Aware of technical and compliance issues relating to the financial services industry
  • Demonstrate learning of analytical techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail
