Job Summary:

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) provides overall leadership and direction in managing construction projects from initiation to completion. The role is accountable for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The SPM leads multidisciplinary teams, manages client and stakeholder relationships, and drives continuous improvement in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership & Management

  • Define project goals, success criteria, scope, and deliverables in alignment with client requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Lead project teams and provide clear direction, coordination, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

Planning & Execution

  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), and timelines.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, contracts, permits, and technical submissions.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure timely communication of project progress.
  • Negotiate contracts, variations, claims, and dispute resolutions.

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
  • Implement company policies, ISO standards, and local building codes.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and coach Project Engineers, Site Managers, and other staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop training plans for the project team.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety awareness.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Timely completion of projects within approved budget and schedule.
  • Zero (0) major safety violations or lost-time incidents.
  • Client satisfaction rating of 90% or above.
  • Successful delivery of at least 95% of project milestones on schedule.
  • Effective cost control with variance not exceeding 5% of approved budget.
  • Staff development and retention within the project team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Licensed Engineer required).
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in construction project management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure, waterworks, or vertical/horizontal construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project scheduling, quality management, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent), CAD tools, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills/Certifications:

  • Licensed Civil Engineer; holding a Master Plumber's License is an advantage.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent certification.
  • ISO and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) training is highly desirable.
  • Background in water infrastructure and pipelaying projects preferred.
