About the Role

Compare Club Australia Pty Ltd. is looking for a proactive and highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our growing IT team. As an SRE, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with development, operations, and product teams to enhance automation, implement best practices in site reliability, and support continuous integration and delivery processes. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving abilities, a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, and a passion for maintaining high-quality services. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of production systems and services.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and system transparency to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Automate manual operational tasks and incident responses.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to identify and fix single points of failure.
  • Maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.).
  • Manage applications built on PHP, , and Serverless frameworks.
  • Tune Linux systems for performance and reliability.
  • Ensure systems adhere to security and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) for scalability and reproducibility.
  • Document operational processes and solutions for cross-team visibility and continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Strong experience in AWS services and API management (especially Apigee).
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux systems, scripting (Python, Bash), and cloud-native architectures.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Strong understanding of compliance and security best practices.
