DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Transport Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable execution of containerized transport operations from trip preparation to delivery completion. The role involves coordinating with Account Managers, Drivers, Truckmen, Clients, and internal support teams to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient shipment handling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Trip Preparation and Dispatch

  • Receive confirmed trip bookings and Request Delivery Orders (RDO) from the Account Manager.
  • Prepare delivery details by assigning drivers and helpers, and communicate these assignments through the designated Containerized Driver Viber group chat.
  • Prepare and complete required trip documents based on the RDO, including trip forms and any client-required documents.

  • Issue IOU (budget request) for the driver's trip allowance following company procedures.

  • Trip Monitoring and Client Coordination

  • Monitor the delivery progress from dispatch to completion, tracking key milestones throughout the trip.

  • Provide hourly updates to the Client using their preferred communication channel.

  • Ensure all changes, delays, or incidents during delivery are promptly communicated to the Client and relevant internal teams.

  • Issue Escalation and Breakdown Coordination

  • Ensure Drivers and Truckmen adhere to required truck positioning and operational protocols.

  • Receive reports of breakdowns or rescue requirements from the Driver/Truckman and promptly coordinate with the Maintenance and/or Procurement teams to deploy necessary support services.

  • Completion and Documentation Handling

  • Retrieve trip documents from the Driver upon delivery completion.

  • Verify completeness of all documents and forward them to the Transport Data Management Department for proper processing and submission.

  • Reports Preparation

  • Prepare and deliver reports required by their supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in containerized transport operations of at least one (1) year
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Working flexible hours, including night monitoring
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
