Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for directing skilled and semi-skilled workers in tasks involving the repair and alteration of existing building facilities. This role includes regular monitoring of work processes to ensure adherence to specifications and overseeing the mechanical repair and maintenance of plant equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Maintenance Head regarding machine issues, technical problems, and accomplished projects.
  • Assign mechanical workers to specific tasks according to plan, with the approval of the Maintenance Head.
  • Collect and review preventive maintenance checklists, job orders, and accomplishment reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Head.
  • Supervise mechanical technicians to ensure they perform their tasks correctly and meet deadlines.
  • Provide estimates for time and materials required for mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance work.
  • Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and avoid any hazardous activities.
  • Maintain professionalism, control project budgets, and ensure the use of quality tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to communicate updates and address key issues.
  • Keep detailed records of completed tasks and methodologies for future reference.
  • Assist in maintenance planning and control by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities.
  • Contribute to the achievement of organizational maintenance and quality objectives by completing required tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior.
