  • Create technical drawings: Generate detailed drawings for projects like buildings, bridges, or mechanical equipment, including plans, elevations, sections, and wiring diagrams.
  • Work from specifications: Use rough sketches, blueprints, and verbal instructions from engineers or architects to create or modify drawings.
  • Design and detail: Add specific dimensions, materials, and other details to designs to ensure they are ready for production or construction.
  • Manage and organize files: Maintain and update drawing directories, manage file versions, and archive documents according to established guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance: Verify that drawings are dimensionally correct and compliant with building codes, engineering principles, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with teams: Work with engineers, architects, and project managers to resolve design issues and ensure accuracy.
  • Revise and update drawings: Implement changes and markups to existing drawings as needed, for example, to support new construction or design modifications.
  • Produce visualization: Create visualizations, diagrams, and other graphics to help communicate the design to stakeholders.
  • Prepare documentation: Compile and organize necessary documents, such as shop drawings, and assist with tasks like data tabulation or site surveys.
