POSITION: IN-HOUSE ATTORNEY

SALARY: PHP50,000

WORK SET-UP: FULL ON-SITE

WORK SCHEDULE: MON-FRI (9AM-6PM)

LOCATION: PASEO DE ROXAS, LEGAZPI VILLAGE, BRGY. LORENZO, MAKATI CITY

Position Summary

The In-House Attorney shall be primarily responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to permitting and regulatory compliance in connection with the Company's mining operations. This includes the preparation, filing, and renewal of permits; direct coordination with government agencies and regulatory bodies; interpretation and application of mining, environmental, and administrative laws; and ensuring full compliance with all applicable national and local legal requirements. The role also involves the drafting and review of legal documents, identification and management of legal risks, and the provision of strategic legal advice and support to management to ensure the company's operations are legally sound and protected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process, monitor, and renew all permits, licenses, and clearances required for mining operations (e.g., MGB, DENR, NCIP, LGUs, EMB, DOLE)
• Coordinate with government agencies to facilitate timely approval and resolution of permitting issues
• Interpret and ensure compliance with the Philippine Mining Act, environmental laws, and related regulations
• Draft, review, and organize legal documents, contracts, affidavits, and regulatory forms
• Represent the company in administrative proceedings, public consultations, and government negotiations as needed
• Provide legal opinions and recommendations related to tenement management, indigenous rights, and land access
• Maintain a database of permits, legal documents, deadlines, and official correspondence
• Conduct legal research on updates to mining, environmental, labor, and corporate laws that may affect operations
• Coordinate closely with the permitting, operations, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with legal requirements
• Perform other legal tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.)
  • Must be a licensed Philippine Attorney and member of the Bar
• At least 3 years of legal experience, preferably in the mining, energy, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of mining laws, permitting procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Experience liaising with DENR, MGB, NCIP, LGUs, and other regulatory agencies
• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Strong ethical judgment, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
