Purchaser (Construction -Preferably in Fit Out works, Glass and Aluminum)

Core Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management: Research and evaluate potential vendors, negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best deals for the company, and build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Procurement Planning: Collaborate with project managers and other internal teams to understand material and equipment requirements and forecasts, ensuring timely acquisition to prevent project delays.
  • Order and Delivery Management: Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs), monitor the status of orders, track shipments, and coordinate delivery logistics with warehouse staff to ensure materials arrive on time and in good condition.
  • Cost Control and Analysis: Conduct market research and cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, compare quotes, and optimize purchasing budgets.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Review the quality of purchased products, address any non-conformities or discrepancies with suppliers, and ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, invoices, and inventory levels. Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, expenditures, and supplier performance for management review.
  • Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues related to damaged goods, incorrect shipments, or invoice discrepancies with vendors and the accounting department.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with vendors and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software (ERP systems) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
