Job Title: Cashier/Teller

Location: STI West Negros University

Position Summary:

The cashier/teller at STIWNU plays a crucial role in managing financial transactions within the school environment. This position involves handling various payments, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cash Handling: Accurately process cash, checks, and electronic payments for tuition fees, cafeteria purchases, school supplies, and extracurricular activities.

2. Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to students, parents, and staff members regarding payment inquiries, account balances, and transaction details.

3. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash drawer and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with school policies and procedures.

4. Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including receipts, invoices, and payment confirmations.

5. Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork, preparing deposits, and generating financial reports as needed.

6. Communication: Communicate effectively with other school personnel to address financial matters and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.

7. Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and maintain appropriate levels of petty cash for daily operational needs.

8. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines related to financial transactions, data protection, and privacy laws.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

- Prior experience in cash handling, customer service, or financial administration is desirable.

- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail are essential.

- Proficiency in using computerized cash register systems and basic accounting software.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.

Working Conditions:

- This position typically operates in a school office environment.

- May require standing or sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.

- Flexible schedule may be required to accommodate peak times and special events.
