This is a Data Engineer position that involves delivering and supporting data integrations from internal and external sources into the technical stack of our data warehouse, ensuring accurate data delivery to systems. This role requires building new data integrations (ETL components) and making changes to existing software, with a key focus on designing and building a strong Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding business and data requirements, defining solution approaches, designing and implementing ETL components.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of various business process and system modelling tools including: Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, and Use Case Scenarios
  • Developing and writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and insert data into and from the Data Warehouse.
  • Engaging with Business Analysts and Technical Architects to clarify business requirements and offer recommendations for improvements.
  • Contributing to defining a scalable data warehouse architecture.
  • Coordinating production, development, and sandbox environments.
  • Preparing documentation related to releases.
  • Participating in peer code reviews.
  • Providing coaching and guidance to junior team members on technologies and processes.
  • Supporting testing and UAT for work being delivered.
  • Providing out-of-hours support as requested for incidents.
Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years of IT experience in working with ETL in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge in ETL Design methodologies, including best practices, performance tuning, architecture, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling and ability to represent data using standard modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency with SQL and stored procedures.
  • Experience in working with at least one of the following warehouse technologies: SQL, Snowflake, AWS Redshift.
  • Ability to deliver work to schedule (self-manage workload and priorities).
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Passion for complex data structures and problem-solving.
  • Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
