E-commerce Platform Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior E-commerce Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our e-commerce platform.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Shopify development, as well as a strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid, and responsive design principles. You should also have experience with APIs, third-party app integrations, and Shopify Scripts.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Development & Customization

• Develop, customize, and maintain the Shopify storefront and related integrations.
• Implement pixel-perfect designs from Figma into responsive Shopify themes.
• Develop both front-end and back-end features.
• Launch new products and campaigns every 4–6 weeks, ensuring flawless rollouts.
• Ensure creative assets from design/marketing are implemented seamlessly.
• Integrate and customize Shopify apps, scripts, and APIs as needed.

Site Optimization & Performance

• Continuously monitor and improve site speed, load times, and responsiveness.
• Optimize scripts, images, and code to support a mobile-first experience.
• Leverage PageSpeed Insights and other tools to maintain high performance scores.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and implement long-term performance fixes.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Quickly debug and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
• Test changes in staging environments before deployment.
• Deploy updates during low-traffic windows to protect customer experience.
• Maintain clean code and ensure consistency across updates.

Integrations & Automation

• Manage critical integrations (Recharge, Klaviyo, TripleWhale, analytics, and pixel tracking).
• Troubleshoot app conflicts and ensure all third-party tools work seamlessly.
• Recommend new apps, tools, and automations to streamline workflows.

Collaboration & Growth

• Partner with marketing/design teams to execute high-impact launches.
• Provide feasibility input on timelines and campaigns.
• Share ideas to improve UX, conversions, and checkout flow.
• Stay current with Shopify updates and e-commerce best practices.
• Document processes and create scalable dev workflows for future growth.

Research & Innovation

• Explore emerging Shopify trends and suggest opportunities for innovation.
• Test and recommend A/B strategies to improve conversion rates.
• Contribute insights to strengthen the DTC customer journey.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must-Have:

• 3+ years of Shopify development experience.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid, and responsive design principles.
• Experience with APIs, third-party app integrations, and Shopify Scripts.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices for Shopify.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with subscriptions (Recharge, Skio, etc.).
• Familiarity with analytics (Google Analytics, TripleWhale).
