Job Description

As a Supply Chain Operations Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the entire logistics process, from booking shipments to managing documentation and invoicing. You'll ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and handle all aspects of shipment management, including:

  • Responding to general inquiries regarding rates, services, and sanctions
  • Verifying final shipment details with shippers before booking
  • Requesting bookings with ocean carriers or truckers
  • Cross-checking commercial documents, including invoices, packing lists, letters of instruction, etc.
  • Creating dock receipts and inland Bill of Lading for shipments booked through separate truckers
  • Filing AES ITN and amendments as necessary
  • Creating shipping instructions
  • Realigning documents and dates for any changes in shipments, vessel details, or schedules
  • Obtaining MBL approval and sending draft master and house bills of lading to shippers for review
  • Creating pre-alerts and sending final documents to shippers
  • Tracking goods in transit and providing updates until delivery
  • Handling invoicing tasks by adding bills and expenses in Magaya
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven experience managing US sea export shipments from start to finish
  • Experience working with logistics systems or applications like Cargowise, Magaya, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms
  • Familiarity with import/export processes
  • Familiarity with various shipping documents and their requirements
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Customs Administration degree or equivalent preferred
  • Familiarity with NVOCC operations and processes
