Job Overview

We're looking for a skilled engineer to support our database operations and drive the modernization of our infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for building internal tools, writing SQL scripts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

About The Role

This role involves working at a fast-paced SaaS company with a modern AWS-native stack. You'll build reusable internal tools, write complex SQL queries, and analyze performance to optimize database flows. Your expertise in PostgreSQL and MariaDB will enable you to navigate complex multi-tenant schemas and extract, transform, and deliver data efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop internal tools to streamline product team workflows.
  • Write, maintain, and optimize SQL scripts across AWS RDS-hosted environments.
  • Support one-off customer data requests and ad hoc reporting needs.
  • Navigate complex multi-tenant PostgreSQL schemas to extract, transform, and deliver data.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to scope and fulfill data-related needs.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MariaDB in AWS RDS environments.
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and analyzing performance.
  • Familiarity with Java-based ORMs and their impact on schema design.
  • Experience supporting multi-tenant environments, ideally using schema-per-customer models.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python).
