Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Publishing Assistant to join our team. As the founder's right-hand collaborator, you will play a pivotal role in bringing creative ideas to life and ensuring the smooth development and promotion of our titles.

As a key member of our publishing process, you will be responsible for coordinating book creation, collaborating with illustrators and ghostwriters, and supporting the marketing and publishing process.

Your expertise will be invaluable in managing project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met, and providing feedback on drafts. You will also be responsible for organizing and maintaining book-related files and documentation.

In addition to your administrative duties, you will support promotional efforts, including basic advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach. Your strong organizational and communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with creatives such as illustrators and writers.

Experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field is essential. A background in children's book content and trends is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the development of children's books from concept to publication
  • Coordinate with illustrators, ghostwriters, and other freelancers
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are met
  • Review and provide feedback on drafts
  • Organize and maintain book-related files and documentation
  • Support promotional efforts including basic advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field (children's publishing is a plus)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers
  • Self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable working independently in a startup environment
  • Familiarity with children's book content and trends is a plus
