Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team in developing a high-performance windowing system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing features across the Mir stack, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test high-quality software components;

  • Collaborate with engineers to identify and resolve complex technical issues;

  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure reliability and stability;

  • Engage with the open-source community to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing;

  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and best practices;

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback;

  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor landscape.

Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in computer science, with a degree in Computer Science or related field;

  • Excellent programming skills in C++ and Rust, with experience in Linux development;

  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming patterns and concurrency;

  • Able to communicate complex technical ideas effectively;

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Wayland protocol ecosystem and compositors;

  • Familiarity with OpenGL, Vulkan, and other graphics toolkits;

  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and architecture principles;

  • Ability to travel occasionally for company events and meetings.
