Job Summary

The Senior Planner - Inventory Management will support the Global Planning team with data collection, root cause analysis, report generation, feedback collation, and presentations. This role also involves planning ownership of select portfolios across the Orica global network, ensuring cost and service goals are met in the highly regulated mining and civil construction industries.

This position requires strong supply chain planning skills and inventory management experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in conversational English, both written and verbal, and possess a Bachelor's degree in business, industrial engineering, or other quantitative discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the 'reporting and insights' capability for the Global Planning team, across all areas of responsibility.
  • Gather data from various sources across the business, manipulate and cleanse, and analyse/root cause to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern. Provide actionable insights to stakeholders based on this data analysis.
  • Create impactful presentations based on insights collated through individual and group analysis to drive positive outcomes for the business, across a range of stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Lead improvements in reporting standardisation, efficacy, and accuracy across the Planning function as a Centre of Excellence.
  • Responsible for all midterm planning activities (e.g. rough cut capacity planning, key input netted demand, etc.) of designated portfolio(s).
  • Lead monthly communication with key stakeholders of the supply plan, and highlight potential risks or disruptions that may affect the ability to supply product to our customers.
  • Immediate response to escalated issues/situation at plant or at delivery domain.
  • Coordinates with Global Logistics to ensure freight cost is optimised with a holistic business lens.
  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all Master data objects related to midterm planning in SAP IB.
  • Analyses and actions IBP requirements in order to support the manufacturing business.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in conversational English, language both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, industrial engineering, or other quantitative discipline.
  • At least 5-7 years' experience in Supply Chain Planning in a heavy industries MNC environment.
  • Strong supply chain planning skills and inventory management experience.
  • Highly proficient at Microsoft Excel and capable of building dashboards in Microsoft Power BI.
  • SAP System expertise, with Advanced Planning & IBP modules experience preferred.
