Job Summary

The position of Network Infrastructure Specialist involves designing and implementing network site planning, equipment deployment planning, and basic design of network instances. This role requires in-depth experience and knowledge of own discipline to determine work priorities, act as a resource for colleagues, and respond to network incidents.

Core Responsibilities

  • Developing practices and procedures for network installation, maintenance, and operation.
  • Implementing test and acceptance criteria for network elements.
  • Scheduling equipment activations and customer-affecting network maintenance while meeting with potential customers, designing solutions, working with vendors on pricing, and implementing adaptable solutions.
  • Exercising judgment during incident management, site design, network configuration, and network activation to ensure efficient use of funds and time.
  • Designing network site planning for multiple regional network sites.
  • Representing Regional Company interests with providers to ensure timely delivery of circuits.
  • Developing and maintaining network element documentation and inventory.
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory or network spare equipment for rapid restoration.
  • Ordering, tracking, and reporting on all internal and external wired and wireless connection activation activities.
  • Developing cost proposal documents.
  • Exercising independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
