Innate Skin Immunology Specialist
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc to join our team at the Leo Skin Immunology Research Center. The successful candidate will contribute to investigating innate immune mechanisms in the skin, focusing on understanding how these pathways contribute to both normal skin homeostasis and the development of inflammatory or autoimmune skin diseases.
Job Description:The postdoctoral position focuses on researching innate immune regulatory mechanisms in the skin, with particular emphasis on how these processes maintain skin homeostasis and their dysregulation leads to inflammatory or autoimmune skin diseases. Key areas of research include examining the role of type I interferons in shaping cutaneous immune responses and studying skin-resident myeloid cells to understand how they sense, respond to, and regulate inflammatory cues.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate innate immune mechanisms in the skin
- Design and execute research projects related to innate immunity and skin immunology
- Collaborate with colleagues to advance knowledge in the field of skin immunology
- Present research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a PhD in Immunology or a related field. They should also possess extensive experience working with macrophages, including functional assays and characterization. Strong communication skills and proficiency in multidisciplinary teamwork are essential. Excellent English skills, both written and spoken, are required.
- Desirable Skills:
- Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing and ATAC sequencing
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
As a postdoctoral researcher at the Leo Skin Immunology Research Center, you will enjoy a stimulating and collaborative work environment. You will have access to modern laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development. We offer competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits packages, and generous support for travel and conference attendance.
How to Apply:Applicants should submit their applications, including a cover letter, CV, and list of publications, to the University of Copenhagen job portal. A certified copy of a PhD certificate and Master of Science certificate is required. Letters of recommendation are not required but may be requested at a later stage in the application process.
