Research Position in Immunological Bioinformatics

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to lead spatial transcriptomics analyses across diverse projects.

The role offers a central position in collaborative research with potential for methodological innovation and scientific leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Advance understanding of immune regulation by applying spatial transcriptomics to complex tissue settings, including skin, lung, and intestinal environments.
  • Analyze spatially resolved gene expression data to uncover how immune cells interact, organize, and drive pathology in barrier tissues.
  • Contribute directly to ongoing collaborations with experimental research groups, helping to shape scientific questions and extract meaningful insight from emerging datasets.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in analyzing single-cell omics data.
  • Strong interest in spatial transcriptomics and immune-related biology.
  • Write clean, reproducible code and are confident working with large-scale biological datasets.
  • Comfortable engaging with experimental collaborators and contributing to joint scientific planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team-based, interdisciplinary setting.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience with spatial transcriptomics data (e.g., 10x Visium, Xenium, CosMx, or similar platforms).
  • Publication track record in bioinformatics or immunology, including first-author or co-author papers.
  • Familiarity with computational methods for spatial statistics, image analysis, or cell–cell communication inference.
  • Experience contributing to software packages, pipelines, or reproducible workflow frameworks.
  • Interest in academic career development and research leadership.
Working Conditions

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 2 years, with a possibility for extension.

Salary and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
