Senior Financial Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial management and analysis, with experience in leading month-end close processes and managing a team.

About the Role

The Senior Financial Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting;
  • Pulling and analyzing reports from various systems, including Xero, to build and maintain Excel-based financial models (including three-way forecasting);
  • SUPPORTING the budgeting, forecasting, and cost control cycle;
  • Managing intercompany journals, transactions, and reconciliations across multiple entities and jurisdictions;
  • Consolidating reporting across New Zealand, Australia, and Canada;
  • Reconciling subscription revenue using Stripe data, ensuring accuracy in recurring revenue streams;
  • Providing financial analysis and insights that help shape business decisions;
  • Acting as a trusted partner to leadership, delivering confidence and clarity around numbers;
  • Preparing SaaS Metrics reporting;
  • Constantly identifying and implementing process improvements in Finance processes;
  • Tax filings and compliance – Income tax, transfer pricing, GST, FBT;
  • Preparing monthly Management Reporting and overseeing Year End Financial Statement compilation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • CA or CPA qualifications with experience in accounting and financial analysis;
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in leading month-end close processes and managing a team;
  • Experience with SaaS or subscription revenue models is preferred but not essential.
