Forward-thinking financial professionals are required to lead a company's financial activities, focusing on strategic decisions.


Key Responsibilities

AFP&A leader's day-to-day work involves managing recurring tasks and special projects.

  • Financial Planning: Develop annual operating plans in collaboration with various departments. Create rolling forecasts to provide up-to-date financial projections and facilitate business adaptability.


  • Financial Modeling & Analysis: Construct comprehensive financial models to project future revenues and expenses. Conduct variance analysis by comparing actual financial results with budgeted or forecasted numbers and explaining discrepancies.


  • Performance Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Develop dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.


  • Strategic Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to inform major decisions.


  • Collaboration: Partner with department heads across the organization to understand their financial needs and provide relevant data-driven insights.



Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting, Management Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent is required. A CPA, CMA, or MBA certification is an asset.


  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in finance and accounting, with expertise in financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, and simulations.


  • Proven experience in supervising or managing a team of at least 5-8 people is necessary.


  • Ability to travel for client visits if required.

  • Financial Modeling & Excel Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Excel, with advanced function skills and experience building complex financial models.


  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and the three main financial statements.


  • Data Analysis: Ability to collect, clean, and analyze large datasets using business intelligence tools.
